Notre Dame football star wants to look and act the part of top target
Jaden Greathouse’s freshman season with the Notre Dame football team was one of quite a bit of frustration. After all, it was clear to most people around the program that he was one of the best weapons the Irish had.
However, thanks to injury problems that plagued him week after week, he finished with just 18 catches. The receiver, who wore number 19, is changing his number the same way he hopes his second season will mark a change as well.
Greathouse believes that in order to really get to where he needs to be under position coach Mike Brown and the Notre Dame football coaching staff, he needs to look the part as well as act the part. That’s why he’s changed to No. 1 from No. 19 a year ago.

"If I want to take on a wide receiver 1 position, I gotta be able to wear it on my chest,” Greathouse told reporters this week in the leadup to the Texas A&M game. “I gotta take the responsibilities of whatever that comes with."
He also made it clear that he believes he can get to where he wants to go. And that his new jersey number is motivation towards a greater goal.
“I’ve prepared for this situation,” Greathouse added. “I’ve been doing this all my life. There’s no reason I should go out there and have any reason to fear and think that I’m not going to get my job done, because constantly throughout my life I’ve been able to step up in big moments. That’s what I plan to do this weekend.”
Notre Dame football certainly hopes that Greathouse shows up and shows out against Texas A&M. The program will benefit greatly if he walks the walk as well as talks the talk.
