Notre Dame football WR teammate says he has 'Tyreek Hill speed'
- Notre Dame football wide receiver Cam Williams did an audit of his teammates speed.
- Turns out Jayden Harrison might be the fastest.
The Notre Dame football team started spring practice last week and that allowed several players who had never spent time on the field together to meet and get to know each other for the first time. Freshman wide receiver Cam Williams took the opportunity to do some “man on the street” interviews where he attempted to find the fastest players on this Fighting Irish squad.
“We're doing a new segment this year called ‘On CAMera.’ Get it?,” Williams said. “Today's question of the day was, who would run the fastest 40 in each position group?”
Williams then started with his own position group. It turns out there is one player that stands out there more than most. That would be transfer wide receiver Jayden Harrison.
“That dude has got Tyreek Hill speed,” Williams said in the video. “I’m not going to lie.”
That’s certainly high praise for Harrison, who was one of three wide receivers that Marcus Freeman and company brought over through the transfer portal this winter. After Kris Mitchell from Florida International and Beux Collins from Clemson, Harrison might have been the forgotten man.
Notre Dame football transfer wide receiver is a real speed burner
Harrison has definitely shown some flashes over the course of his career. He joins the Notre Dame football team after playing his freshman season in 2020 at Vanderbilt and then serving a three-year stint at Marshall.
With the Thundering Herd he snagged 63 receptions for 759 yards and four touchdowns.
Where he will likely shine the most for the Fighting Irish is where he really shone last year especially. As a kick returning, Harrison had 705 yards on 23 kickoff returns (a 30.1 average) and two touchdowns. That included a 98 yard return.
One would think that Jayden Harrison would need to have “Tyreek Hill” speed to get that done. It will certainly be fun to see how Mike Denbrock and company can take advantage of that for Notre Dame football this fall.
