Former Notre Dame football star out again due to persistent foot injury

A former Notre Dame football star officially saw his NFL career hit yet another road block. The most unfortunate part about it is that it's the kind of injury he's had to suffer with several times over the last few years.

Kyren Williams had what can only be described as a dream season with the Los Angeles Rams. He took the Rams' starting running back job and ran for over 1,000 in just 12 games played. This was despite the fact that he didn't even for 200 yards in his previous campaign.

Of course, the hangup here is that the reason the former Notre Dame star only played in 12 games is because of a foot injury that caused him to miss a quarter of the season. It appears that the injury is one that is going to be a recurring one.

Earlier this week, the Rams announced Williams suffered a foot injury that will cause him to miss OTAs right up until the fall. This is officially the same kind of "foot issue" that's plagued him two other times in the last three years.

Ex-Notre Dame football star sidelined again with 'foot issue'

If there is some good news with this particular update, it's that Rams head coach Sean McVay doesn't expect the injury to be one that keeps him out for the fall.

“Kyren’s good. He had a little foot issue that we’re gonna be smart with him… He’ll be ready to go for training camp," McVay said.

While it's good that Williams will be back for training camp, there is another rock in the road to continue the former Notre Dame football star's dominance in the NFL.

Los Angeles selected former Michigan running back Blake Corum in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The rookie could be taking snaps away from Williams when the season comes around.
