The Notre Dame football has one of the best quarterback commits in the 2025 class. As they work rather hard to keep him while other schools come calling often, Marcus Freeman are having to come up with new and original ways to make sure he stays in the fold.

Not only that, but It seems like Notre Dame football offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock really loves what he sees from Deuce Knight. The future Irish quarterback is currently participating at On3’s Elite Series camp and got a chance to sit down with J.D. Pickell for an interview where he talked about some of the things he and Denbrock have discussed.

Notre Dame football commit compared to Heisman winner

The comp between you and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels, what he did at LSU,” Pickell asked. “I mean, is that something you'll talk about a lot? Is he throwing up tape with him and saying, hey, we can use you this way, just like we did with Jayden?”

“Yes, sir, Knight said with a smile. “He threw up tape a lot when I come up there. You know, he had full-up plays where we kind of did the same thing. He'd be like, you're already doing this, so why not come through it here? But it's always good to see, like, something familiar, you know, so you know you're going into a system that you fit.”

Obviously, that’s an extremely lofty comp. Daniels was the best player in the sport just a year ago. He’s also someone who has been around the college football world compared to Deuce Knight, who still has a while before he’ll be at South Bend for school.

The Notre Dame football team would certainly love for Knight to turn into a real comp for Daniels. We’ll see how close to reality that is if and when he starts taking snaps for the Fighting Irish.
