Notre Dame's Pitch Strikes Gold: Top WR prospect draws comparison to NFL talent
There was a ton of build up for Jayvan Boggs’ visit to see what Notre Dame football had to offer. The Irish are hoping to land one of the best receivers in the 2025 class. The receiver also really wanted to see what South Bend was all about.
It appears that the visit did a lot more than just show off South Bend and the Notre Dame campus. It convinced Boggs that the Fighting Irish definitely need to be considered one of the top schools he’s considering.
“The visit was amazing,” Boggs told Irish Breakdown. “It honestly blew me away. The coaches were all great. The conversations with all the coaches were awesome. I really felt like I was a part of the family.”
That language alone is always nice to see. However, it’s not that much different from what you see from other recruits when they visit other schools. In fact it’s usually the kind of thing recruits say when they’re trying to keep things close to the vest.
However, there was more to what he enjoyed than just the regular old talk about what a great program Notre Dame Football is. One thing that stood out for the 4-star wide receiver is that he got to go in depth with new Notre Dame Football offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock.
Notre Dame Football’s comparison for Jayvan Boggs stood out
Boggs told Rivals that during his meeting with the Notre Dame Football coaches, he drew several comparisons to one of the two receivers that Denbrock coached at LSU. Those receivers are both expected to go early in the 2024 NFL Draft.
"It’s huge, to be honest, because he compares me to Brian Thomas and for me to come in and make a impact is something I definitely want to do."
With Boggs squarely on Notre Dame Football’s radar and now having enjoyed his visit to South Bend, it’s almost certain that they’ll be ramping up their pursuit. This is a space to watch over the next few months.
