Ex-Notre Dame football running back out for rest of the summer
The injury bug is officially starting to hit former Notre Dame football players. Earlier this month, the Los Angeles Rams announced that Kyren Williams is going to be missing some summer workout sessions. On Thursday, the Denver Broncos announced Audric Estime is missing some time as well.
Estime hooked on with the Denver Broncos as a team that could be as good a pairing as possible. However, it turns out that last week he injured a knee in OTAs. According to NFL insider James Palmer, the former Notre Dame football star underwent surgery to fix the injury.
“Rookie RB Audric Estime had a small scope on the knee he injured during OTAs last week per Sean Payton. Estime will be available and good to go for the start of training camp, but will miss minicamp and the rest of OTAs as he’ll be rehabbing.”
Ex-Notre Dame football star missing valuable practice time
The Broncos were upbeat about Audric Estime’s injury but there’s still plenty for Fighting Irish fans to be worried about. The man known as “Baby Bus” in South Bend has some things to prove. He didn’t have a great showing at the NFL Combine.
Even while some analysts made sure to sing the praises of Estime, he’s not someone who is going to have a roster spot no matter what. There’s a chance that even if he was drafted, Denver might decide to go in another direction.
Had he been able to stay healty and work out all summer, he’d have a much better chance of sticking with the Broncos.
Now he’s going to be given a few weeks to show what he can do. Hopefully the former Notre Dame football star is totally healthy when fall camp starts. Audric Estime is one guy who deserves a chance to really show what he can do at the next level.
