At the moment, former Notre Dame football star Sam Hartman’s professional football career has hit a low point. He was cut from the Washington Redskins just ahead of the season started and at the moment, he’s still looking for another team to give him a shot.

However, no one should ever claim that Hartman is resting on his laurels. He’s out there hustling and making sure the money is coming in. He just happens to be doing it in a professional pretty far away from the gridiron. Though it is still taking advantage of his various talents.

Earlier this week, eagle-eyed Notre Dame football fans noticed that it appears Hartman is at least dabbling in a bit of male modeling. The former Irish gunslinger showed up in a Macy’s catalog showing off how good he looks in different outfits for one of the biggest and longest lived clothing stores in the country.

Former Irish team captain Mike Goolsby was the man who brought Hartman’s modeling gig to light on X, showing that Hartman was featured in a digital ad for Ralph Lauren and Macy’s. Of course, one of the funniest tidbits of that ad was that it talked about traditional New York style.

Hartman is from Charlotte, North Carolina and played his college ball at Wake Forest and then of course, in South Bend, Indiana. Still, it appears Macy’s believes the quarterback fits right into their ad campaign.

Sam Hartman might be doing things outside of football these days, but he does have another opportunity to show the pros what he can do. The former Irish quarterback was drafted by the Birmingham Stallions this summer.

He might be able to play for them this spring and show that he deserves another shot next fall. It’s worth pointing out that the Notre Dame football star could be following in the footsteps of Adrian Martinez if he went that route.

Martinez won the UFL MVP last spring and is now on the practice squad for the New York Jets.
