Notre Dame football target shows flippability as Irish watch him switch schools
The sky has been falling for quite a while when it comes to Notre Dame football recruiting and the wide receiver position. It’s not a stretch to say that the way things went with Jayvan Boggs was the start of some serious concerns.
Does that mean the Irish could reverse the curse by getting back into the Boggs race? It turns out that he might be flippable. He’s already flipped once, so perhaps Marcus Freeman could do it again.
Earlier this week, Boggs reversed his commitment to the Missouri Tigers. Instead he now says he’s headed to UCF. But if he’s willing to change his mind, one has to wonder whether Notre Dame football could find a way to get back under his skin.
Can Notre Dame football get back in the fight for Jayvan Boggs?
With the revelation that Boggs is now headed to UCF, it’s natural to wonder just how solid he could be. It’s not as thought the Knights are a juggernaut on the recruiting trail. The wide receiver seems to have taken a step back in talent level by going there.
There is the caveat that it’s possible Boggs has decided he wants to be closer to home. There might even be a reason that has him wanting to stick in Florida. Perhaps it’s a family issue.
If that’s the cause, then no, Notre Dame is not going to get back in the fight. There’s also an argument that the Irish shouldn’t get involved with someone who is having this many problems making a pledge stick.
While some fans might think that it’s not worth the effort, one thing is almost certainly true. The Notre Dame football coaches had to have been on the phone in the last few hours to gauge his interest in moving again. It’s a long way to December. And Jayvan Boggs is flippable. How many times is the question.
