How Notre Dame football wins the 4-star fight for Jayvan Boggs
It's no secret that the Notre Dame football coaching staff badly wants to add 4-star Florida receiver Jayvan Boggs to its 2025 commitments. It's also no secret that the talented pass-catcher is strongly considering the Fighting Irish. However, considering the other top level teams coming after Boggs, the Golden Domers have a fight on their hands.
It does appear that Notre Dame has a path to secure a commitment from Boggs and that path became more clear when he took a visit to see the Fighting Irish during their spring practice session. Recruiting analyst Kevin Sinclair believes Marcus Freeman and company might even be the front runners at this point.
Sinclair appeared on the LockedOnIrish podcast last week and relayed what someone inside Boggs' circle of trust told him. One of the things the source told the analyst was that the receivers' conversations with the coaches went incredibly well.
"Conversations with Mike Denbrock, new receivers coach Mike Brown and Coach Freeman were like noticeably even more than he was expecting," Sinclair said. "He really, really likes those coaches a lot"
Notre Dame football could have ace in the hole for Jayvan Boggs
Sinclair added that Boggs liked what he saw from Notre Dame so much that he might change up his visit schedule.
The trip to South Bend was an unofficial visit ahead of what wll be a series of official visits starting with UCF on May 31. He'll then go to USC on June 7, Georgia on June 14, and Missouri on June 21.
However, it's possible that Boggs is also going to come back to South Bend for another visit to talk to the Notre Dame football coaches again before those other visits begin.
"If it does," Sinclair said. "I would have to figure that Notre Dame has a really, really good chance of landing him, if that happens, if that's the case. We'll see what sort of happens there."
There is another way in which the Irish could lure Jayvan Boggs. Notre Dame is hard after Cocoa teammate and quarterback Brady Hart. The Irish are in fact currently considered the front runners to land Hart.
There've been hints from both players that they certainly wouldn't mind a teammup. If all goes right this spring, Notre Dame football could end up landing both.
