Notre Dame football WR draws Davante Adams comps from new teammate
When talking about the Notre Dame football wide receivers who are making an early impact this fall camp, we probably shouldn’t be surprised to hear Jaden Greathouse mentioned. After all, there was a time last season when the Irish hopes hung on his health.
In the end, Greathouse wasn’t able to get healthy enough to make a real impact for a passing game that needed someone to step up, especially after Mitchell Evans went down. He finished the season with just 18 catches for 265 yards. Though he did find the end zone 5 times.
This year, Greathouse has looked like a man who knows he really needs to step up. After all, the Notre Dame football team brought in several transfer receivers to take over the starting jobs. This spring, he was recognized as someone who could create problems for opponents with his versatility. It appears that’s carried into fall camp.

Enter Jordan Clark. Yet another transfer player (though this time on the defensive side of the ball) who is gunning for playing time. In practice so far he’s been impressed by the players he’s lined up again.
Especially Jaden Greathouse.
"If I had to player comp him, he's like a Davante Adams type of guy,” Clark told the media after practice last week. “Crafty in his routes, a bigger person than you think he is too, so you have to stop him from catching the ball even if you do stay with him."
Fighting Irish fans will certainly take that. Imagine having a Davante Adams type playing alongside guys like Beaux Collins and Kris Mitchell who have done their own share of impressing people since showing up to camp last week.
It’s early yet. Far too early to know how everything is going to shake out. However, it’s clear Jaden Greathouse is standing out in a way that he needs to in order to get playing time. It will be interesting to see if he forces his way up the Notre Dame football depth chart ahead of Texas A&M in three weeks.
