Not starting left a 'sour taste' in Notre Dame lineman's mouth
It’s been a bit of a trying season for the Notre Dame football team already. While the Irish are 3-1, they expected to be 4-0 at this point of the schedule. There’s also been several injuries, especially on the offensive line to deal with.
For some of the Golden Domers, there’s the team frustrations and the individual frustrations. Issues like thinking they were going to be in the starting lineup, only to find they’re fighting to get in the game at all.
Rocco Spindler is one of those on the Notre Dame football team who hasn’t loved how the season shook out for several different ways. He recently spoke to Irish Sports Daily about how frustrating it was to not get the starting nod.
“Right now, we're focusing on Louisville, but it left a sour taste in my mouth,” Spindler told Matt Freeman. “I really thought coming off of two surgeries, I was the guy to go to. But things happen. Coaches have got to make decisions and you necessarily don't always agree with them.”

“Tough times don't last, tough people do,” continued Spindler. “I think that's kind of been my motto. Not only, my motto with this team's motto. Losing the NIU, I feel like we have a chip on our shoulder going the rest of the season.”
As he said, these days, he focusing on helping the Notre Dame football team win one game after another. And perhaps he can get himself back into the starting spot for good before the season comes to an end.
