DB target knows Notre Dame is 'not a place for everyone' and he likes it
The Notre Dame football team has had an interesting run of late, regarding recruiting. The team has been hosting a ton of prospects in South Bend, and most of them have liked everything they’ve seen.
On the other hand, when it comes to prospects actually committing, the Irish have lost far more fights this summer than they’ve won. Sooner or later the law of averages says that Marcus Freeman and company will turn that streak around.
Perhaps Simeon Caldwell is the kind of dude who can help reverse the curse. After all, following a visit to South Bend, the 4-star safety out of Florida seems to understand what makes Notre Dame football special. And he likes that it’s not a place anyone can go.
Notre Dame football ‘not a place for everyone’ and Simeon Caldwell knows it
“Notre Dame is not a place for everyone,” Caldwell explained to Irish Sports Daily following his visit. “It’s not an easy place. You’re going to get top-level football and top-level academics. There are some people who want to go to college just to play football and could care less about an education. I have two sisters who went to Ivy League schools, so academics are important.”
It seems as though the Fighting Irish have a leg up. On3’s RPM has Marcus Freeman’s squad as the leader in the clubhouse with a 29 percent chance of landing Caldwell.
However, Florida State is on the hunt for one of the best prospects in the 2026 class.
Notre Dame football just needs to keep the pressure up and keep reminding the Simeon Caldwell why South Bend is where he needs to end up.
