There’s been a ton of talk about how hard Notre Dame football is working on keeping quarterback commit Deuce Knight. However, there are some other commits to the program that the Fighting Irish staff used last weekend to make sure they stayed in the fold.

Count Ethan Long among those that the Fighting Irish wanted to make sure he stayed a commit. And when you look at his comments post trip to South Bend, it looks like the safety commit is very much convinced he made the right decision.

During the same weekend when other recruits like Knight and uncommitted prospects were visiting, Long had a unique experience on the Notre Dame football campus. He thoroughly enjoyed his time with his potential future teammates.

Notre Dame football safety commit had an ‘unimaginable’ visit

“They're all so amazing. It doesn't matter what side of the ball we're on, offense or offense, we're going to be a brotherhood and we're going to have each other's backs and we're going to be a family,” Long told Irish Sports Daily.

Getting to hang with guys like Elijah Burress, Deuce Knight, Ivan Taylor and others was just part of what had Long fired up after his visit.

“It went great,” he said. “It was unimaginable. It was like I was living in a-whole-nother world. I truly felt that it was like my family and I feel like I belong there for sure. I have no more questions about it.”

The “no more” questions is an interesting tidbit to take from the Brunswick School safety’s comments. Clearly the 4-star prospect was having at least some thoughts about whether the Irish were right for him.

Luckily it turns out that if he did have doubts, they were dashed by his latest trip to South Bend. That’s a massive win for Notre Dame football who is still working to keep several high profile commits on board.
