Notre Dame football fans excited for EA Sports College Football to “just get here already” have spent most of the weekend getting little tidbits of information about their favorite team. We already knew there were four Irish players in the game’s Top 100, but now we also know some of the ratings of players that weren’t in that group.

It was a little bit of a surprise that Fighting Irish quarterback Riley Leonard wasn’t among the Top 100, if only because it seems like he could very easily merit a 90 or 91 overall rating. After all, before he got injured last year, he was considered one of the best quarerbacks in the country.

Analyst Josh Pate shed a little light on where Leonard stands. And as it turns out, the Duke transfer was almost among the Top 100 after all. He also shed some light on just how good one of the Notre Dame football running backs could be.

Notre Dame football quarterback proves to be among best EA Sports College Football players

“The golden helmets of the Fighting Irish, not the only glamorous thing about Notre Dame in EA Sports College Football 25,” Pate began. “Quarterback Riley Leonard clocks in at 88 overall. He's one of the top-rated dual-threat quarterbacks in the entire game.”

However, he added that those playing the game won’t have to only focus on the passing game in order to score some serious points in South Bend.

“They can run the ball, too,” Pate added. “Especially with speedy tailback Jeremiah Love, rated 94 overall in the speed department. When you're ready to throw it, look at Mitchell Evans. The tight end is rated 90 overall.”

“I may have buried the lead though because this Notre Dame defense is going to do some nasty things,” Pate said finally. “Led by top two corner Benjamin Morrison at 94 and top four safety Xavier Watts at 92, this top 10 unit boasts six players rated 87 overall or better. So it doesn't matter who you control. You're going to rack up tackles for loss, sacks, three and outs quicker than a hiccup.”

All of this should have Notre Dame football fans who are also fans of EA Sports College Football very excited.
