At the moment, it doesn’t appear as though the Notre Dame softball team is slated to make a trip to the postseason. However, stranger things have happened and there’s always a chance to make it in with a back door draw thanks to winning the ACC Conference Tournament. So should the Irish somehow manage to do exactly that, the question remains. When does the Women's College World Series start?

The answer to that is that the Women's College World Series start’s around the same time it always does. That means it generally begins at the end of May. This year, that menas that the first games of the tournament kick off on May 29 and run through June 5 or June 6 depending on how the games play out.

The first date for college softball fans to keep in mind is May 11. That’s when the fun gets going on the selection show. Then the regionals start on May 16 and run through May 18. The lucky few who win their way out of the regionals then start the super regionals on May 22 and runs through May 25.

Finally, the last teams standing will travel to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to officially begin the Women’s College World Series and crown a national champion.
