Notre Dame has landed verbal commitments from 17 prospects in the 2015 class. It is unclear how many scholarships the Irish have left. Currently, Notre Dame would have 85 players on scholarship in 2015. So, in order to land more players, Notre Dame will have to cut into its 5th year candidates. This may happen naturally. Players like DaVaris Daniels and KeiVarae Russell are likely to head to the NFL with eligibility remaining.

With limited scholarships available, Notre Dame is only going to pursue the best of the best. Who are these targets that have legitimate interest in Notre Dame? Here are the top 5 players remaining on the board:

5. Soso Jamabo – Running Back – Plano, TX (Plano West)

Notre Dame already landed a commitment from Pennsylvania Running Back Josh Adams. However, Notre Dame is still pursuing several Running Backs including Plano West Running Back Soso Jamabo.

Playing in one of the toughest areas in high school football, Jamabo rushed for 2774 yards on 345 times with 34 touchdowns in two years of football. Additionally, he caught 35 balls for 678 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Jamabo would fit perfectly into Notre Dame’s system, which is similar to the scheme he plays with in high school. He can run out of the shotgun formation and he is adept at catching the football.

To land his signature, Notre Dame will need to battle UCLA and Baylor. The Fighting Irish are probably 1st or a close 2nd right now. Jamabo has an official visit set up for the September 6th when Notre Dame battles Michigan under the lights in Notre Dame Stadium.
