2015 Notre Dame Football Recruiting Class

Notre Dame brought in a solid Offense class last Wednesday. The Irish added Quarterback Brandon Wimbush, Running Backs Dexter Williams and Josh Adams, Wide Receivers C.J. Sanders, Jalen Guyton, Equanimeous St. Brown and Miles Boykin, Tight End Alize Jones and Offensive Linemen Tristen Hoge and Trevor Ruhland to the 2015 Notre Dame Football recruiting class.

Quarterback: B

  • Brandon Wimbush

According to Rivals.com, Wimbush is the 4th best Quarterback in the 2015 class. He is a solid recruit that will have the opportunity to play after Malik Zaire graduates and leaves South Bend. He will have to compete with Deshone Kizer, who was also a 4 star Quarterback prospect. Wimbush’s accuracy needs to improve in the next couple of years to be prepared to fight for the starting job. His development is crucial for his success. However, Wimbush has a great set of raw skills to build on.

Running Backs: B

  • Josh Adams
  • Dexter Williams

Notre Dame gained the commitment of 4 star recruit Dexter Williams on National Signing Day. Dexter has very good vision, especially in between the tackles. He hits the hole with quickness and power. His 6-foot frame will allow him to play around 210-215 lbs.

Josh Adams is potentially a bruising Running Back at 6’3’’ 210 pounds. Adams needs to run with lower pad level, but he has the tools to be a great Running Back for Notre Dame.

Tight End: B+

  • Alize Jones

Tight End U strikes again! Alize Jones has the size and raw skills to become a very good player for the Irish and an NFL prospect someday. Jones needs improve in the blocking department. Given some time at Notre Dame, his technique and strength will improve, giving him better tools to block. ESPN ranked him as their top Tight End in the 2015 class.

Wide Receivers: B+

  • Miles Boykin
  • CJ Sanders
  • Equanimeous St. Brown
  • Jalen Guyton

On Signing Day, the Irish gained another receiver in 6’5″ Equanimeous St. Brown. My advice is to learn how to properly say his name. His combination of speed and size will help him work his way up the depth chart.

Overall, this Wide Receiver haul has everything a coach would want. They have size in St. Brown and Boykin, a speedster in Sanders, and a technical route runner in Guyton. This group’s development will be exciting to watch over the next four years.

Offensive Line: C+

  • Tristen Hoge
  • Trevor Ruhland

The anchor of this class is Center prospect Tristen Hoge. He blocks with violence and passion. He will move up the depth charts quickly at Notre Dame. Trevor Ruhland has decent technique. However, he will have to add weight, get stronger and improve his body lean. He needs to continuous drive his legs. These two have potential but have not demonstrated it on the field.

Overall: B
