5 Recruits Who Could Spurn Notre Dame on National Signing Day
By Andrew Hall
Every year, Notre Dame (and many schools for that matter) loses recruits at the 11th hour prior to Signing Day. Here are 5 recruits who could spurn the Irish and select another school on National Signing Day.
Safety – Prentice McKinney
Prentice McKinney announced yesterday that he would visit UCLA. McKinney could harm Notre Dame’s effort to land several Safeties in this class.

Linebacker – Tevon Coney
Tevon Coney visited Miami (Fla.) this past weekend. Following his visit, Coney proclaimed that he committed to Notre Dame despite already being committed. Both Miami (Fla.) and Florida could be final destinations for Coney. Florida was in the final two before Coney selected Notre Dame. New Florida Head Coach Jim McElwain was not in Gainesville when Coney made that decision.
Offensive Tackle – Jerry Tillery
Top Offensive Tackle Jerry Tillery has always flirted with the LSU Tigers. Tilley plans to enroll early at Notre Dame. So, if Tillery plans on flipping to LSU, he will do it before mid-January.
Wide Receiver – Jalen Guyton
Jalen Guyton joined the Shamrock Soldiers in March 2014 following an unofficial visit to South Bend. Guyton plays from Allen High School outside of Dallas, Texas. The Quarterback at Allen High School is Texas A&M commitment Kyler Murray. Although there are no strong indications that Guyton is looking around, Murray could sway his favorite receiver into selecting College Station as his new home.
Wide Receiver – C.J. Sanders
C.J. Sanders committed to Notre Dame on May 6th. Prior to Sanders’ Senior season, UCLA offered the 4-star Wide Receiver. Rivals writer Adam Gorney wrote of the situation:
"UCLA got involved in his recruitment in recent weeks with an offer and Sanders said the Bruins have continued to reach out. However, it doesn’t sound like the four-star wide receiver is giving the recruiting process much thought at this point in the season."
