Offer List

Kevin Stepherson received 18 offers before committing to Notre Dame. His offer list included Colorado, Florida, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Rutgers, South Florida, UCF, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Stepherson’s list included mostly schools in his area but also featured outliers like Colorado. On the positive side, the majority of Florida schools (Florida, South Florida and UCF) offered scholarships to the in-state product. On the negative side, Florida State did not offer Stepherson.

Overall, his offer list is impressive. It included all Power 5 conferences (Pac 12, Big 10, Big 12, SEC and ACC). His offer list indicates a 4-star recruit and not a 3-star ranking.

Recruiting Rankings

Kevin Stepherson is a 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. Additionally, the Composite rankings list him as the 564th best player and 93rd best Wide Receiver in the 2016 class.

All recruiting services (ESPN, Scout, Rivals, 247) list Stepherson as a 3-star prospect.

Highlight Videos

On film, Stepherson makes tons of plays. Whether he is high pointing the ball, scoring on a kickoff or taking a screen the distance, Stepherson can do it all. In 2014, he caught 33 passes for 756 yards (22.9 yard average) and 11 touchdowns.

Summary

The recruiting ranks do not add up to what Stepherson’s offer list, highlights and stats show. He is better than a 3-star prospect. But, this is not the first time a recruiting service has got it wrong on a player. Remember 2-star J.J. Watt?

Although he can probably play all 3 Wide Receiver positions for Notre Dame, Stepherson is best suited to play the ‘X’ spot. The ‘X’ position is currently played by Junior standout Will Fuller.
