LSU's loss might be Notre Dame football's loss as well when recruiting smoke clears
Remember a week ago when it looked like Notre Dame football could pop some champaign corks because it was about to land one of the better wide receivers in the class? Life comes at you fast. Especially when it comes to recruiting.
So what changed? Nothing has for sure yet. That much is clear.
However, while it was funny for a minute to think about the failure that Brian Kelly suffered when he lost out on 5-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, it looks like that flip from LSU to Michigan could soon have an effect on where 4-star receiver Derek Meadows ends up when the smoke clears.
Notre Dame Football is back in the danger zone
Meadows is looking elsewhere than LSU, just like Underwood did. And for the last week or so, it’s felt like the Irish might steal him away. After all, they were very close to getting him instead of the Bayou Bengals in the first place.
However, Michigan has tried to get into the race in the last few weeks. And they have plenty of NIL money to spend, as their grabbing of Underwood demonstrates. They could open the purse back up for Meadows.
It’s pretty clear that the Irish are one of Meadows’ favorites. It’s also clear that the right dollar amount might be the deciding factor here. And a competitive offer, paired with the chance to play with Bryce Underwood in college, might be enough for Michigan.
With just a few weeks to go, Notre Dame Football will find out one way or another very soon.
