When Jackson Coleman first committed to Notre Dame, he was a bit of an under-the-radar wide receiver who even invited some fans to wonder why he was a “take” for the Fighting Irish. Through two weeks in his senior season with Highlands Ranch (Colorado) Valor Christian, he’s looking like quite the steal.
On Friday night, Coleman absolutely went off against Faith Christian. The Fighting Irish commit hauled in 7 receptions for 194 yards and 3 touchdowns. Those numbers were huge, especially since his squad won 46-9.
Notre Dame fans would have been plenty happy to see a receiver in the 2027 class put up those kinds of numbers all on their own. However, Coleman also started off his season with a monster game for Valor Christian against The Kinkaid School.
The wideout’s team took home a 38-22 win thanks in large part to Coleman’s team-high 7 receptions for 116 yards and 1 touchdown. On the year, Coleman is off to a start that includes a total of 14 catches for 310 yards and 4 touchdowns. That’s the kind of start that should have Irish fans drooling to see what he can do as the season goes on.

Not to mention that if he continues to rack up the numbers he has through the first two weeks, he may not be a 3-star prospect for all that long.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Notre Dame commit has also started out showing that wide receiver coach Mike Brown has some serious chops when it comes to evaluating talent. Coleman is ranked as the No. 692 player in the 2027 class, the No. 93 player at his wide receiver position, and the No. 5 player in the state of Colorado according to Rivals Industry Rankings. Those rankings sure look like they’re about to rocket up if he keeps leading the team in receptions, yards and scores.
Of course, despite being considered an under-the-radar prospect, he has more than 20 offers because he's already shown he can use his blazing speed to his advantage in a big way.
As a junior in 2025, Coleman caught 45 passes for 975 yards and 9 touchdowns, averaging 21.7 yards per reception over 13 games. As a sophomore, the Notre Dame commit recorded 18 receptions for 296 yards and five touchdowns, giving him 63 catches for 1,271 yards and 14 touchdowns across those two seasons. Coleman is also an accomplished track athlete who has run the 100 meters in 10.67 seconds and placed fifth at the Colorado Class 5A state meet as a sophomore.
