One thing is absolutely undisputable when it comes to Notre Dame football’s 2025 season. Jeremiyah Love needs to be healthy. So far, so good on that end, though obviously it’s very early in spring practice.
Still, considering that the star running back divulged that he finished the 2024 campaign running over, around and through defenders despite nursing a Grade 2 MCL sprain. And while that sprain definitely hampered him a big in the College Football Playoffs, that it was never a tear that would have come close to needing surgery is certainly good news.
For starters, it means that Love isn’t going to miss any of Notre Dame football’s spring practice. That’s bigger news than some might think at first glance. The running back is entering 2025, having announced his presence with authority and he’ll almost certainly be one of the early favorites for the Heisman Trophy. That’s why he’s keeping the hurdling he became famous for last season tamped down until the fall when its needed again in actual games.

It’s also worth pointing out that Love is doing this despite the fact that he says new running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider hasn’t talked to him about it. That makes sense for the running back considering that he’s smart enough to know to keep that under wraps.
As far as Seider goes, Love says the newest addition to the Notre Dame football coaching staff is all about players being themselves. Jeremiyah Love, being himself is going to be a sight to see.
