Notre Dame football has a number of players that are hoping to get picked in next spring's NFL Draft. As of right now, there is at least one Mock Draft that doesn't think many of them are going that early. Though it appears the Mock might have left out guys like Audric Estime because they hadn't announced yet.
Still, the fact that Joe Alt is the only member of the Notre Dame football team that is projected to go in the first three rounds of the draft by SI's Luke Easterling should still be a bit of a cause for concern. Of course, it's nothing but good news for Alt, who is considered one of the best picks in the draft.
Alt is considered good enough to be the sixth pick in the draft. If that's where he does go, he'll be a member of the New York Jets, assuming the order stays the same. Granted, it feels as if the Jets have a chance to rise even higher in the
"If the Jets want to keep Aaron Rodgers healthy for more than a couple of plays next season," Easterling wrote. "They're going to need some massive improvements to the offensive line. That needs to start at left tackle, where Rodgers needs a reliable blind-side protector. The son of a Pro Bowler at the same position, Alt has the talent and polish to be that guy from Day 1."
Notre Dame football lineman only pick in first three mock rounds
That's the good news for the unanimous All-American. The bad news of course is that none of the his Notre Dame football teammates are going to go anywhere near as high.
If there is a player that could challenge Alt for a spot in the first round, it would be Estime. It's just a matter of the Notre Dame football star getting more buzz as the winter goes along.
