The Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team got quite the boost on Wednesday evening when Jalen Haralson picked Micah Shrewsberry's squad over Michigan State and Indiana. The 5-star prospect is the best prospect the school has landed in the modern era.
And he's yet another piece of talent that the Irish can add to a roster that is getting better all the time. In fact, he's also the second commit for the 2025 class this week. He joins fellow in-state prospect, Brady Koehler.
Not long after Haralson announced he's headed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, there were many, many reactions on social media. It's clear this is a very big deal for those who follow college basketball and those who follow the Irish.

As the nationโs No. 14 overall prospect, Haralson represents the highest-ranked Fighting Irish player in the modern recruiting era. https://t.co/yyhjcK1Un7
It's clear that people are quite excited about what Shrewsberry is doing with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team. While the 2023-24 season wasn't as good as some might have hoped, there is legitimate building going on for a coach that appears to be in the right spot for him.
Perhaps even more interesting is there's no guarantee he's done. Shrewsberry has a few more irons in the fire and he could get more commits in the coming weeks.
