Notre Dame Fighting Irish score fourth commit in eight days
Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball head coach Micah Shrewsberry is on a heck of a run. It’s the kind of run any basketball coach would be ecstatic to have. And that was if the guys he’s managed to get weren’t some of the best in their classes.
On Monday, the run continued. Shrewsberry had another recruiting win. And the Irish basketball team now has its fourth commitment in the last eight days. In other words, Shrewsberry had the kind of 10 days that most coaches would be excited about if it took two or three months.
4-star center Tommy Ahneman is the latest Notre Dame Fighting Irish recruiting win. He pulled the trigger on Monday just hours after recruiting analysts said they believed it was very, very close.
Ahneman, a native of North Dakota, joins Notre Dame’s No. 4 ranked recruiting class nationally in five-star SF Jalen Haralson (No. 13 nationally), four-star SF Ryder Frost (No. 83), four-star PF Brady Koehler (No. 92 overall) according to On3.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish get another recruiting win
Ahneman was getting a ton of attention from Big Ten programs and was scheduled to make official visits to Minnesota and Iowa in October.
Those visits look like they won’t happen now, though it’s worth pointing out that recruiting has changed. Being the victor in a battle like doesn’t always mean a team has won the war.
Shrewsberry will almost certainly keep up the fight because he knows a player can flip on a dime. But tonight, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball coach can celebrate a ridiculous hot streak.
