Who leads the Charge? Notre Dame awaits commit from top QB targets
It seems like it’s only a matter of time before Notre Dame Football lands its next quarterback commit. The big question these days, is just who is that quarterback commit going to be? The top candidates for the position are Cocoa’s Brady Hart or Lake Mary’s Noah Grubbs.
It’s more than a little interesting that the race for the 2026 Notre Dame Football quarterback commit is comprised of two players from the state of Florida. It’s also more than a little interesting that a couple of recruiting gurus believe the first one to give his pledge, is the one who gets the golden dome.
When it comes to Brady Hart and Noah Grubbs, 247Sports analysts Tom Loy and Andrew Ivins are in agreement that either quarterback could pull the trigger for the Fighting Irish at any time. They both also agree that at the moment, neither is any real hurry to do so.
However, the sense of urgency could increase for both highly-touted prospects should it seem like the other is about to commit. That was the prevailing theory from the analysts who appeared on the latest installment of the 247 Recruiting Show.
“I think Notre Dame definitely led for Brady Hart coming out of the visit and Notre Dame leads for Noah Grubbs coming out of that visit,” Loy said during one segment. “So it's gonna be who's gonna pick Notre Dame first.”

“I do believe both will come off the board before the end of the summer,” Loy added. “Just going to see who jumps on it first.”
Loy said that if Notre Dame has a top rival for Hart’s services, it’s the Florida Gators due to family connections to the school and proximity.
For Grubbs, Ohio State appears to be the team the Fighting Irish need to worry about the most.
Brady Hart could be the best option for Notre Dame
In the same segment, which began when a listener asked which of Hart or Grubbs was a better comp to Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Andrew Ivins said that Hart might be a slightly better prospect.
“I'd probably lean Brady Hart here over Grubbs at this stage,” Ivins said. “But they're both, you know, big-frame guys. I don't know about the Trevor Lawrence comparison, but they can spin it.”
The lesson to take from both of these comments is that Notre Dame Football seems extremely likely to land one of the best quarterbacks in the 2026 class. It’s just a matter of who.
