Notre Dame Football has kicked things into gear recruiting-wise in a big way. Ever since the Pot of Gold Day, where the Fighting Irish sent out dozens of offers, they’ve been hosting quite a few visits.

Among the top prospects that have come to South Bend there are a few that stand out. JaDon Blair certainly makes that cut. The 4-star safety has been a target for Notre Dame Football for quite a while. For quite a while it felt as if he was moments away from pulling the commitment trigger. Then there was talk the Irish had fallen back in the race. That Penn State and some other power conference teams were taking the lead.

It’s possible that Notre Dame Football just got its groove back.

Blair was in South Bend this past week for a rather long visit to get another look at what the Irish have to offer. His comments to On3’s Kyle Kelly make it seem as though Marcus Freeman made quite a bit of progress.

“It was by far one of the best visits I have been on,” Blair said. “That’s word-for-word. What I learned exceeded everything. I’m just being honest. My parents and I were definitely blown away.”

When it comes to predicting where the Mount Tabor product might go, it’s still largely a mystery. The safety is planning on taking official visits to Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Michigan, Florida State, Penn State and then back to Notre Dame.

Those visits are going to be running through the next few months. Blair, one of the top prospects in the state of North Carolina wants to pull the trigger by the end of the summer.

There was a time when it looked like Notre Dame Football was losing hope. It turns out they are very much back in the fight.
