Notre Dame Football: Joe Alt faces onslaught of criticism from L.A. Chargers fans

Apparently, no one told a large swath of Los Angeles Chargers fans that they needed Notre Dame football's Joe Alt. They were also never told that quite a few mock drafts believed Southern California was exactly where the massive left tackle was going to end up.

As soon as it became apparent that the Chargers were going to stick at the 5th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, most people felt as though they were going to take the best tackle available. That just happens to be Joe Alt.

However, it appears that quite a few Chargers fans were hoping that the Jim Haraugh led squad would go with someone a bit more ... exciting. Because apparently those who feel that the unanimous All-American who stands 6-foot-9 isn't exciting, haven't actually watched him shove opponents around.

There were of course, some people who thought that Alt might not be a fit for the Chargers because he'd have to move to the other side of the line for them. That was definitely one of the reasons there were some who were not happy about the former Notre Dame football player joining their roster.

Sometimes, when you're really made about something, the only thing you cand do is break stuff.

Credit to this Chargers fan, who at least had a reason why this was the "worst pick" of their life. I feel like it wouldn't take long to find someone worse than the Notre Dame football star, but I appreciate their reasoing.

One Chargers fan really, really wanted Malik Nabers, who was still on the board when Joe Alt was selected and went one pick later.

Not every Charger fan was angry about Joe Alt being on the team. Some seemed to understand just how big this pick was.

And yet, still others thought Los Angeles needed more weapons for their quarterback.

Confusion was the biggest emotion about the former Notre Dame football star going to the Chargers from most fans.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame football fans think Joe Alt can do Jim Harbaugh some good.

Some people noticed that it's not the Chargers that should be mad about the former Notre Dame football star, but rather Joe Alt who should be a bit miffed about who took him.
