Notre Dame football losing its grip on 4-star safety eyeing Michigan
Notre Dame football fans have spent the last few days gloating over JaDon Blair's commitment. When the 4-star safety prospect announced he’d picked the Irish over Michigan and others, it was a big win for the folks in South Bend.
However, while there’s no joy in mudville - otherwise known as Ann Arbor - these days, recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong thinks that could change. And it could change to the detriment of the Golden Domers.
Wiltfong recently gave a wide-ranging recruiting update about several of the top prospects out there. Notre Dame football commit Ivan Taylor was among those who was in the update and Wiltfong thinks he could soon be switching over to the Wolverines.
Ivan Taylor could be looking at greener pastures
“The Wolverines have had Taylor on campus twice this year including the official in June. They look like the biggest threat to flip Taylor from ND,” Wiltfong wrote.
“From a Michigan perspective, I like the way that one is currently trending.”
Notre Dame football not looking great here
From a Notre Dame perspective, the idea that Michigan is making real inroads is more than a little annoying. Especially since the last time the 4-star target was in South Bend, he called hte visit, ‘unimaginable.”
Notre Dame football has work to do for Ivan Taylor
When all is said and done, there’s a very good chance that the commitment of JaDon Blair could have played a part in Taylor looking elsewhere. One has to think that Michigan has been working overtime to convince the Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange safety that Blair was always the Irish’s top target.
On the flipside, the Wolverines can now act as though they never really wanted Blair and Taylor was always their top pick.
In other words, Notre Dame football needs to get its house in order and keep Ivan Taylor a commit. And do it quickly.
