Top Notre Dame football WR target Derek Meadows is ready to decide where's home
The Notre Dame football team has lost out on one of its top wide receiver recruits. They’re offered another one that looks lille he might be quite the replacement. And in the next couple of months, they could land one of the best pass catchers in the country if Derek Meadows decides South Bend feels like home.
For now, the focus for Marcus Freeman and company is on trying to lock down Meadows. The 4-star receiver is looking to take some serious official visits. And once he’s done, he might be close to pulling the trigger.
Meadows is on his way to Ann Arbor to check out what the Michigan Wolverines have to offer. Then things get really interesting.
Notre Dame Football is on the cusp of getting top ranked wide receiver prospect
After Ann Arbor, he’s got himself a busy June. He’ll head to Georgia, Notre Dame, LSU and Alabama. And then, perhaps not long after that, he’s pulling the trigger.
So who is the real front runner? Meadows told On3’s Chad Simmons that, “On the official visits, I want to see where I see myself living the next four years."
“I will pick one of these five schools when I commit,” Meadows told Simmons. “I have said September before, but I could commit in July or August if I am ready. Going into the visits, all are on an even playing field.
Notre Dame football is going to try its hardest to no longer be on an even playing field. Freeman and his staff know they have their work cut out for them. But they’ve also made some serious inroads with the Bishop Gorman product.
Unfortunately, it’s possible that the Irish has lost some ground. Meadows says that early on, he was all Notre Dame all the time. However he said other schools have “opened his eyes.”
Now the Fighting Irish need to get back to convincing him South Bend is where he’s supposed to go.
